This 38’ model of USS Nevada was used in the movie Tora! Tora! Tora! in 1970. Then a Navy Pearl Harbor survivor purchased the model to remind citizens about the attack and story of Pearl Harbor. The Quarterdeck Society now has possession, but can only fund raise locally, so Navy Days – LA is partnering with this 501(c)(3) to raise the funds necessary to restore the model and build a permanent home port/museum near the LA Maritime museum and the USS Iowa museum ship in Los Angeles Harbor.

Donations are needed to weld the Sail of the USS Los Angeles submarine back together and to prepare the ground to present the Sail as a memorial to all who served in the US Navy’s submarine service. The location TBD will be near the LA Maritime Museum, the USS Iowa and hopefully the bow of the USS Los Angeles (CA 135).
